This scenario is interesting. Ariz St is rumored to having a vacancy this spring. Pitt's coach Jamie Dixon coached at N. Ariz and UC-Santa Barbara prior to his gig in Steel City. His roots are out west. We'll see if the Pac Ten school has the jack to lure him away. Huggs would be a sure fire candidate at Pitt. 6-7 HS forward Herb Pope from Pittsburgh has allegedly held off his verbal to any college until Huggs finds a job. Pope is a top 100 national recruit. Joining Pope would be 7-1 center Jason Bennett from South Carolina, Mayo, Walker, Ellis, and probably Devan Downey. Stay tuned.

man, the peyote in 'Zona must be REAL good!....Pitt is a factor in basketball, ASU,..uh,...NOT!
Downey will sit out the only year Mayo will be playing in College?....really?...why?...to be with Huggins?...what, are they sleeping together? I think that's a far fetched scenario....West Virginia is too. They would eat crow and come after him AGAIN, after he refused them the first time when he HAD another job?....no way!

Huggy will be at Ohio,...there with Solich (Football coach) whoopin' it up a Party-School, Mid-West! They have married Hot tub girls out there too!....and they aren't as fond of eggs, from what I hear...at least not cheap country style eggs!

From what I read last week, the hot triangle is Bielein to Wake, Prosser to UC, and Huggins to WVa.
If Huggins ends up pulling of the Walker & Mayo heist, look for the NCAA to institute a new rule regarding this type of contact with players.I know...I know "He's not working anywhere, he can do what he wants". I guarantee you the NCAA is squirming in their seat over this one.
I'm over the whole Huggins fiasco. I thought he did a fine job here, and I will miss him. But now he's just another guy coaching for the other team.(Whoever that may be)
And don't think WVA wouldn't be interested in him again, it's all about revenue, and with that potential recruiting class, he'll put people in the seats.

It was mentioned once before, Huggs to Mizzou. Quin is gone and Mizzou is tired of being second fiddle in football, basketball, and baseball. They have no main draw, Huggs would fill that void immediately

I was listening to local radio on Thursday afternoon, and they had Huggy-Chicken on. He said flat out, when asked about the West Virgin'ia job,..."I declined it the first time I was asked",....then went on to say their coach NOW, will likely retire there. He also said some great things, you know typical "Its a great place, fine program, strong loyal fan base" "his humble beginning"...yadda-yadda-yadda bullshytie.
They mentioned Pitt and OU too.
If what's been said all year is true, and the Big East is THE conference in basketball (and few could argue its not immense in size, anyway) then why would dude want to leave West Virginia for Wake?? Wake was, evidently, a bit more dependent on Paul than everyone thought. Instead of challenging Duke this year, as was expected, they are fighting to stay ahead of F$U and Miami. WV is in a BIGGER conference and maybe a better one too?
There will be some "biggie" programs with a head coaching need after the season ends,...Huggy-Be(a)er may go to one of those, but he was asked if he saw himself at a Major program, or a middie,....he danced around the question a bit, but came off saying it'd be a middie, w/o saying why.
My understanding is that Nationally, Huggy isn't quite the icon he is here. He was, after all, fired from UC, and then drug it out some costing them all big $$$. To any future employer, that could be seen as a negative???? I mean, he has "baggage",...but then he potentially has some good recruits too....Which school needs or wants both?...Plus, and even Huggy fans should agree, he has an enormous ego that requires pampering....He will have to be the focus of the school itself, not just the b-ball program. With the University's "other" sports taking a back seat to his "him-ness". This is why UC was such a nice fit way back in the early day.
Also, if Mayo, Ellis and Walker are all ready to go...why not go to UC and step RIGHT onto the floor?...at Pitt or Mizzu they'd have other players there wanting minutes as well. They would have a VERY exciting team for a few years at UC if they all stay "local" instead of following an "average" game coach to his next stop.

With the possible exception of West Virginia, I don't see a 'big time' school turning it over to Huggs. I see him going to a mid-major (major wannabe) type school, like Marshall.

And how about 'ole Andy Kennedy. The freaking puppet moron A.D. finally announced AK as a candidate. What, is that because Skip is like 1-10 in the ACC? I am now firmly on board with giving the job to Andy right now. I thought UC would finish just below .500 in the Big East and it looks like that is where they will land. BUT, I predicted that thinking they would have Kirkland, Herrera, Murray, LeGree, Pap Smear... He has also overcome some pretty serious injuries to White and Hicks. He has done an absolute amazing job with the cards he was dealt. AK is one heck of a game coach (Waaaay better than Huggs). I just wish he could get a good young recruiter assistant coach. Although Blount would be a great option, given the fact that he was 'In the League', I doubt that he would want to take on the recruiting duties.

I wouldn't blame AK if he told PWL to stick the job in her plaid panties though. If UAB's coach jumps to Auburn, AK would have to be the leading candidate for that job. But Birmingham is a crap hole, I think that would be a step down. But, I wouldn't blame him if he took that job just to stick it to PWL and the boy blunder.

We'll know soon, Alot of scanarios out there, On the hometown front I was at my physical therapy today & my therapist said the Keenan Ellis kid that left the N.C.H. program a few days before the Oak Hill Academy game was involved in the counterfeiting ring that got busted up in NCH. Anyone else hear anything like that?
