Tournament packets are now available for the 26th Annual Worth/USSSA "Memorial" Tournament.
This 7-game round robin event, remembers and honors former softball people (players, umpires, sponsors, and others) who have passed away, often prematurely. This year's honorees are two such young men: Ryan "Beef" Tobias of Urbana and Dave Nutt of Dayton.
Games are played at multiple facilities in S.W. Ohio and the top two finishers in each bracket of eight teams advance to an elimination round where overall champions are crowned.
Often referred to as the "Toughest Test in Softball," at $275 entry fee, it is also the best per game value in softball.
Divisions of play this year include men's upper (B, C and strong D); men's lower (weak D and E); and mixed couples/co-ed. Men's upper will allow three homeruns per game; men's lower will permit no homeruns (homeruns hit penalized as OUTs only).
