Kolping Rainout

Is it me, or was Kolping the only place to call of games yesterday? How can you call games at 3:30 and not even try to get the fields in playing shape? I only say this because this is two rainout weeks in a row and I know rumpke, hartwell and queen city were all playing.

Riverfront West was called yesterday too, if you play at that dump.

We played at Eggleston & it would have probably been better to call the games. The fields were a mess. I know Kevin tried to get the fields playable, so let's not assume that he didn't make an attempt.

I agree 28SS,we played two games on field 3 last night. They were in pretty bad shape. The outfields were swamps.

Understandable, but to call it so early yesterday at 3:30 and last week call it at 5:20 didn't really make sense to me. 2 hours makes a big difference.

Yes it does--A lot can be done in 2 hours

I'm not mad, I just wanted to play and I definitely thought it was a possiblity.

I must be lucky...played at Expressway and the fields were in very good condition.

Expressway is always in great condition. I hardly EVER see them cancel anything.
On the other hand, Eggleston (Field 1) was in good shape last night. Infield was ready for 6pm game and outfield was a hard clayish type mud.

i played at springdale on the same night with the same surface a kolping an the fields were a mess so the rain out was a good call he does a good job on those fields for being the only person over there considering he has phone duty concession to worry about garbage detail an so on

Expressway does not have tarps. Sorry, We did about 20 yrs ago. That didn't work well. We got rid of them. We have 3 guys (actually 2 1/2 right now because one is in school) that work on the fields.
