Right out of the wrapper the SX3 felt very stiff, and not nearly as end loaded as I would have preferred. However, with just 20-30 swings I could feel it starting to break in. After 100 or so swings on the bat, it’s starting to come around, and really hit the ball very well. The overall feel and performance is getting better with each swing. The sweet spot started off small, but is getting bigger the more the bat breaks in. I think this bat will sneak under the radar with many of the players, until it is fully broken in. (somewhere in the 400+ swings range for most hitters). That sounds like a lot, but really if you can get a few guys out for a round or two of BP with 50 balls each round, it can be done in no time. It is definitely a worth while investment, because those 300-400 hits will really make this bat SICK! Easily one of the best ASA approved bats for the new year.

The new SX3 may say end loaded, but it’s not all that heavy. My recommendation is to go up an ounce if you want more end load.
