hey kostoff, jtaps? we played after you guys in the finals...that was a terrible call on u guys...he made calls almost that bad a couple times in our game... called a strike 3 on a ball that hit the plate...we lost 11-10, so he was terrible in back to back games...

Probably the worst call I have ever seen in a softball game! He didn't even know it was the last out of the game. He didn't even make a call, we had to ask him what is the call? and then he just says "out" and then walks back behind the plate like there was another batter coming up. Who does this on(I guess) a bang bang play to end the game? You either yell SAFE OR OUT! Then when one of our guys says "That was a horrible call" he looks at our guy and laughs! That is what really got me. Anyways, it is shame, Expressway is such a nice park and fun place to play, but is ruined by the umpires. Not blaming our loss on him one bit, we just didn't hit! Sure doesn't help though. The team we played was clapping our hands after the game and said "THAT IS THE WORST CALL I HAVE EVER SEEN" We lost the game by 1 run, so we would have had 1st and 3rd with 2 outs down 1, if he would have called him safe, guess he didn't want extra innings. Sucks to end a game on such a bad call like that, could have dealt with it, if the call was made in the early part of the game, not to end a game. Glad, there was a witness to see that call, because people think all I do is complain about the umpires around here, like I said we lost because we didn't hit, still no excuse to call a guy out at first when he is 2 feet past 1st base.
Sorry Riverstar about this post!

You can post whatever you want (within reason), but I'm laughing at what you post. Yeah, you're replying to the guy who said something about the "bad call" by the ump. You do complain a lot, and this time it's about bullsh.t! Look dude, umps are going to make bad calls, as they are human. What makes you a real man and player is how you deal with it. Suck it up and keep playing, although in this instance you couldn't since it was the end of the game. It doesn't matter when the call is made, either, whether it be the beginning, middle, or end of the game. If your team would have scored many more runs earlier in the game, you wouldn't be complaining about the call. I've said it before, and I'll say it again.........officials never win or lose a game for a team, it's the players and how they play.
If you want to keep bitchin about things, maybe I'll create your own personal Kostoff's Sound Off subgroup!

I do believe multiple times in my post I said, he didn't lose us the game, we just didn't hit. I was commenting on the call, because it was a bad call? Never did I say the call cost us the game. I don't understand where you are going with this? I have never gotten kicked out of a softball game, so I think I am pretty good at sucking it up and I keep playing. I didn't get on here, ripping that umpire, I responded to a person who thought the umpire was terrible and I told him our situation and agreed with him. Don't really care what people say, there is a big difference in a call in the 3rd inning, and a blown call in the bottom of the 7th, with runners on, down 1 run....It happens all the time in sports, a Pass Interference in football to end a half or game, a basketball player fouled in the closing seconds (called or not called)NOW AGAIN, IF WE WOULD HAVE HIT, WE WOULD HAVE BEEN UP BY 8-10 RUNS I AGREE, HE DIDN'T LOSE US THE GAME, WE DID. He simply made that call because he wanted the game over! He knew he did exactly that, that is why he laughed and scattered to the office, and went through the opposite dugout and came back through the opposite dugout, the other team completely agreed with us, and so does this Ballin Bombers team that was in the crowd! You got 30 people that see one thing the same, and one ump that wants to just collect his $18! BS. Here I go again, might as well start my own thread. Haha. Kidding.

If you pay close attention, Umps always walk through the winning teams dugout. It's how they are trained. Pretty smart if you think about it.

I disagree in that notion an umpire cannot lose a game.....and that if you score enUFf that he/she is a non-factor. Games are SUPPOSE to be close!...if your games (generally) are being decided by 8-10 runs, you're playing DOWN!
Games between two, basically, equal teams SHOULD on occasion be played VERY close!....and INTO the final innings.....not ALL the time, but a good portion of the time it should!....The Umpire takes a liberty, or blows a call,...he did DIRECTLY effect that finish!......and at times it can be very disappointing. To play a tight game, back and forth,..and to lose on a BS call-that SUCKS!....
But, where I do agree, is that you cannot totally dump your loss ON the umpire,...or get to a point where you need to continue argueing, or even threaten the umpire....(not saying any of that happened this time, or anytime in particular)....The Umpire needs to hear a few minutes, then move on.....game over.
It sucks, but it sucks even more to NOT have umpires in the numbers they are needed.

didnt see the call in question because i drinking a beer in the parking lot but heard alot of complaints from teams that was on that field sat at expressway about the umpire dont know if it was the same guy that called the foulball out of play right before the 1st baseman made a hell of a catch on it but the umpire that was on that field when i was watching thought he bigger then the game because of his red shirt he might a been a rookie umpire overall i thought the umpires did a good job in the b/c nit

I did see the call in question and many more by the same ump. He was horrible. It was a back and forth game and it was sad to see it come down to an ump. I will give the ump credit for a quick 40 time. Haven't seen someone run that fast in a long time.

Great! Congratulations! You're a winner! People have your back! My point wasn't that the ump made a bad call or not, it was that you complain about it, when there is nothing you can do about it. He didn't make you lose that game (disagreeing with UFreak here). He's human and he made a mistake or two. I would love to see you get out there and then hear what people have to say about you. Step up to the plate, buddy. Or rather behind the plate!
