ASA is banning all 100MPH bats effective jan 1 2008. This most notably includes the Syn 2 and the freak 100

ASA has a posting on the website about what bats will not be legal next year. The Freak 100 and Syn 2 are on the list...

The original CRUSH is still legal for play in 2008 in ASA..... the "NEW" RE-ISSUED version is illegal.

It would be nice if all the softball powers to be could have just one list of banned bats. It would cut down on some of the confusion.

do you know how much money that would cost the bat manufacturers (AKA the people who pull the softball strings)

Yes I do! $ is power, cut down on their $ and you've cut down on their power.
I agree, the bat manufacturers hold most of the cards.

No it's not legal in 2008. The original Crush is a 100mph bat, deeming it illegal. The re-issue is illegal anyway, since it carries no ASA approval stamp.
Be prepared for print-outs of banned bats running rampant of fields next year!

It WOULD be nice, but it'll never happen.
As long as you know your ****, knowing what can and can't be used is easy. Well, it's familiar with me since I know about everything that's out :)

incorrect. not all 100mph bats exceed the 98mph standard... The reissue isnt legal though.

you're right. i hypothecised too early (look at when i posted). its weird that that isn't on there though (Crush 100). also surprising is the Velocite..hit it just right, and it's better than a Freak 100.
