Every field at Eggleston, Riverstar, Pastime and Rumpke is playing but Huddy, that's why I questioned holding the C NIT there in the first place...It's definitely a shame that the C NIT didn't play a single game this weekend!!!

Eggleston was only playing on three fields, but only two of them were decent when we left at 3.

Well why dont you get your butt down here and help get the parks ready. mr harris should come to. we were ar huddy all night and all morning trying to get it ready. the park dosent drain well or should i say at all. only 1 field would have been playable. Oh and i do play for the renegades too. We were there to try to let you crybabies play. the only park that has been playing all day is riverstar from what i am told. we were at pastime and got rained out too.

Why don't PLAYERS come down and help the PARK get ready????? Are you even freakin' serious????? Gee, isn't that why teams pay good $$$ for tourney and league entry fees?????? It is the PARK'S responsibility to maintain fields (especially in a tourney of this magnitude). Should I have to cut the fairways and greens before I play at the local golf course? Should I have to plow the runways at CVG if I've bought a plane ticket for a snowy day????

It's called good business!!! And yes softball parks are a business! It's no shock that people were on this board BEFORE this weekend questioning Huddy's ability to prepare their fields. CLEARLY, their track record speaks for itself.....

Well to start with you didn't want to play there and two if you would've played b/c the fields would have been horrible if you would've played so it was a no win situation an d oh yeah Harris Donny showed up after the c nit had already been cancelled. So play in the C nit next week and quit your bitchin.

well the way i see it huddy was in a lose. lose situation either play on **** and someone get hurt then listen to every one bitch cuz the fields suck or dont play at all TODAY and try it tomorrow. and harris you would have been the first person on every board in cincinatti, ky, michigan, tennessee and any other board to complain.. hey they did the best they could do thats it.. maybe not good enough for you but you dont know how hard and long they worked!! and one more thing, your right it is a buisness dont you think they want to make their money too... just my opinion not trying to single anyone person out, not even harris

Seriously, If you would have been able to play on friday they were playable.. For the People who know huddy, It is diffrent then other parks being its in the middle of 2 huge hills. All the water on the Hills run off and collect on the infields. That isn't huddy's fault.. Blame who you want to.. But Mother Nature took its toll. I can say they were up @ huddy Till Midnight last night and back there at 5AM to 11 AM today.. The reason Renegades Help out on the fields, Is because Donny is the head coach and ask if anyone can help or Wants too. His son's are all on the team. Renegades didn't play until 12 today..So that wasn't the issue. He planned on missing the 1st game anyways. Getting the C NIT going..He has an Assistant Manager that works also.. Now you all get to play at Riverstar Next week.. I am sure you will be happy with that.
It didn't rain at riverstar this morning or all day, However Pastime was 3 hrs behind at the beginning and now another 4-5 hrs behind. We have to call at 8 to see if we can play our 4:30 game tonight. If not they are all pushed back till tomorrow. I heard eggleston is using only 3 fields being 2 are under water.. I don't know the conditions of the fields though.. Pastime was sloppy to start.. But playable until it started raining again.. Nasty Boys Beat Extreme in the 3:30 game in the worst conditions possible during the rain.. Ask extreme if they should have been playing.. I am sure everywhere had issues except Riverstar if it didn't rain.

this tourney will be held at riverstar next weekend. thats the only reason my team is gonna play. next year if the c nit is held at a ky park i bet none of the teams get n it. sucks for the teams that came from out of town and waste $ on hotels for nothing.. atleast some people played 2day, not an all out lose for this tourney.... good luck 2 whoever gets in this next weekend, hope the weather is better........

I am very disappointed in the way the bash was delt with this year. Everyone knows that its never 85 and sunny in the middle of march. I agree that Bill did a great job with riverstar but disagree with putting U Trip C on one of the worst parks in the city. This isnt just some 3 game round robin teams pay almost three hundred bucks for this. I wouldnt be so upset with the situation if everyone got canceled but for the simple fact that even though he worked on the fields all night he shouldnt have been at pastime. Instead he should have been working on the fields to at least try to get something going tomorrow. I feel the worst for the out of town teams that came all the way here to find out everyone else is playing but them. It really puts a black eye on cincinnati softball to the outsiders.

Yes Rumpke was a mess but they couldnt do anything about it. It got even worse when the rain came and the games kept playing. The whole field looked like a lake. To be honest it wasnt fun at all to be cold in a big swamp. But to all the C teams I understand why to be upset about this due to other tournaments you schedule to get in.

Apparently none of you were at Riverstar at anytime today either. We did play all day with only about a 40 min rain stoppage, but it sprinkled/rained for 2 1/2 hours straight and all 5 diamonds played through all but 40 min. Over ankle deep mud with puddles everywhere. I am not complaining by any means because more than once the managers were approached and asked if we wanted to continue. We the players are the idiots that made the choice to play in the horrible conditions. Huddy was in a lose/lose situation. Play in slop and rain and get complaints or cancel it and get complaints.

Harris of all people, I would have figured you would understand what happened. So what happened if it poured all day saturday and the tournament got cancelled this weekend and decided since there are 34 Teams that we will have it Next week. Your Team will be there and So will the other 30-33 teams depending if they are from out of town or not.. And they might come down also.
Maybe people aren't understanding and keep hounding Donny about being at Pastime AFTER they cancelled the tourny.. Could you have played today."Sunday". Yeah.. but you want to hear some bitching... Have teams play 275.00 to play a 1 pitch/ 1 and OUT tounament format.. Being thats the only way 34 teams could have played today. I think this was the best choice for the tournament.. Huddy's Fields are 20x's worst than any field playing right now due to where they are located.. They aren't on flat ground with nothing around them.. they are between 2 Huge hills and whatever water they collect runs off onto the fields. The outfield are swamps right now on field 1 and there is about 8 inches of Mud and slop in the infield.. 300 Bags of staydry couldn't fix that.. People are going to complain but still continue to play.. Get over it.. The best was done to get The C NIT in.. Believe me, JLC wanted to wax your Ass.. LOL

Here's the deal. From the time it was announced that the C NIT was being played at Huddy, people started complaining and predicting that this is exactly what would happen. I

If you will remember, I put a post up pulling for Huddy to get it done right and prove everyone wrong. I LOVE seeing critics proven wrong and I truly was pulling for Huddy to do it.

In the end, the critics and their predictions were correct, every other park played, and I am sitting on my butt looking out the window at sunshine on a Sunday.

By the way, I have no issues with a man that wants to watch his kid play. Lord knows if we had more fathers like that, it would be a better world, BUT make sure your crew is getting the job done for your business while you are gone.

Truth be told, I am just bitter that we have to wait till the last weekend in March to start the season.

Guys, It's just softball! Get over it, play next week if it means that much to you. I'd rather play on a field that is in decent shape instead of a mud puddle. Good call to cancel it if the fields were not in shape to play. So now everyone has something to look forward to next weekend. Who knows, maybe it will get warmer and be dry. We all know that Cincinnati weather changes by the hour.

If they don't give money back, we should at least get like a park credit thing which we can use toward another tourny. I am very dissapointed that they refused to pick up the phones today, if your going to kick out half of the teams and not give any money back, at least have the balls to say it to the managers instead of ducking phone calls.

Nope. You wouldn't have heard a complaint from me. With the weather that we had from the snow to the rain, I would not have complained if we had only been given the option of whether to play or not... Seeing as how everyone else did. I only complain when it is warranted. I will get on here and praise parks when they run a great tournament and praise a team when they play well. If nobody ever complained when something was done poorly, nothing would ever change... Its the good parks that see this stuff and react accordingly.
