Just wanted to know how many teams or people would be interested in a OUTLAW TOURNEY..
~Supply your own balls.. whatever ball you want to use
~ Use any BAT you want
~Unlimited HR'S as many as you can hit
~No Rosters needed, bring who you want!!

Possibly playing at Covington Receration Fields.. 310+ feet fences

~Cash Tourney~

200.00 to Enter!! 125.00 Per Team will go towards top 3 payouts.. 2 n Out format!!

Does the rest of that money go towards life insurance??

That would be crazy !!! I couldn't see anyone over the age of 21 playing in that Tourney. All I can tell you is that if you hold that tourney you had better get on air-tite player release form.

Are you gonna move the mound back about 20 ft and throw it overhand???? lol

I would personally suggest the following with the other $75:

A) As phatneff said, life insurance.
B) Maybe use it to invest in a pitchers screen. Anyone that hits the screen is out.
or
C) Provide the pitcher with enough equipment that he would pass of heat exhaustion and not getting hit with a ball!

B might actually make the event attractive and worth playing in.

Any ball the pitcher touches should be an out in a tourney like that. Or possible put up a pitcher net!

stallings like the idea maybe alittle over the top though... you would have to protect the pitcher here and i am not sure a net would do it cuz the crazy a$$ people that play in this will be hitting the hardest "rock" they can find with the most rediculus bat going!!! alot of ultra and ultra 2s

Stallings I think this is a cool idea if it can be done. Why not just go to FOPA, don't make it any ball, but ok any bat, and unlimited HR's. It would be a fun tournament to play in, but it only takes one ball back at the pitcher to ruin the whole thing for everyone. I don't think the risk is worth it. Maybe you should just make it unlimited HR's. Bring whoever, but balls and bats must be legal. That could still be a good time.

Yeah, but think of all the "men" that would show up!...no arguing about rosters, class, or bats!....however, the reality might be that too few "teams" (term used loosely) to make the payout worth the day (from the field perpective anyway),...but, if the field is free?...maybe a 4 team tourney would pay off?...heck, $300.00 profit is $300.00 profit!(providing you ditch the Lloyd's of London Insurance package!)
PLUS!, what are the odds anyone agreeing to those terms would even care about shooting the hole?.....NONE!.....I say do and utube it!

Call it the "MAN'Z TOURNEY!....hit like a big dog, or stay the **** home!"...feel free to use that slogan!......NO BRAIN, NO PAIN!....feel free to use that one too.

Don't forget to take the vid camera though!....OH, and I have maybe 10-15 50 cores, and a few legend's in a bucket in the garage,...great shape! cha-ching!

80 foot bases would be nice.

would be fun to play... they have these all over the place just not around here... Wouldn't want to run this without some damn good insurance... not sure how they pull it off elsewhere.

we have basically the same thing here in Greenfield the last few years and nobody has gotten killed or hurt. This year though we aren't allowing Ultra's, but we still hit 50 core's. Last year we put in 5 HR's progressive and still nobody got hurt. Kinda has been an unwritten rule that nobody hits the middle, but it does happen. This is for leagues and tourney's.

I suggested that if the pitcher gets hit the inning is over and player is out for the game. That's the only way to protect the pitcher w/out a screen.

so that's why you were snatching up all of the LVs

The FOPA is what I am talking about.. Now its the Covington Receration Ball Fields.. With some Hall Of Famers Field names.. They currently play with Super Blue Dots 47 core and Legend balls there now on league nights.
I think the Net would be a great Idea.. That could work and If you hit the Net the inning is over.. Most people I think would pull the ball trying to hit it out.. I think it would work out..

don't need to make the net an out... just make it a foul... noone is going to get hurt if you hit it anyway..

Yeah but it makes it more of a challenge and you make sure they stay out of the middle.. Kinda like the Hr rule I think in NSA or a tournament I was in. Once you hit your limit of Hr's Your next hr ended the inning.. So if you hit the Net.. It ends the inning!! Could be in the making!! Looks like I need 3 Nets!! If I get 12 teams!!

Yeah.. I agree.. I don't remember anyone really getting hurt.. I know there was a lot of compaining because you couldn't react to the ball

Since Eggy's got the Super Draft and this will be down at FOPA you could call it the Toothless Draft

problem is, to contradict my original statement . nobody back then did get hurt that we know about but hitting the ball that fast makes quick reaction time and also the ball not doing funny things(spinning weird) vital. seeing frank gets hurt sucks and changes a little of my thinking on this. it would be fun and don't get me wrong can be played. i think it would be a great tourney but install at least a five foot net in front of the pitcher just in case. make it a foul ball and go on from there. if frank, the best defensive pitcher i've seen get hit then anybody can and no matter how fun something is , safety should be first . but in all i say this would be fun with a few tweaks
