Just wondering who all is get'n in this Bring Your Skills Tournament & what level everybody is getting into C D or E. Sounds like it'll be a great tournament

I would consider trying to get my team to play this if the rosters were strictly enforced, but why in the hell would anyone want to play without roster restrictions? It's expensive, and everyone would load up on upper level talent and it would be a joke. I'm still pretty sure that Wegman said that they would be strictly enforced... just to lazy to find the post.

Understandable. So if these rosters are used people that have "qualified" in a tourny on a different team then they could not play correct? But if they have not qualified for anything on another team they can play with whatever team?

I follow you pal...I agree as well...I just overheard a conversation while in teh beer line. I have no idea if they were just assuming or talking from there arse, but i did hear that rosters would not be 100% followed....what does that mean? I have no idea and like i said, I have no idea who said it.......they could have been just BS'ing, who knows.

We will be using USSSA rosters. It will be enforced. IMO-this is the only way to run a tournament with a prize package such as this one.

This thread has me curious now. How many teams are planning to join?

This is something I would like to run annually here in Cincinnati. If your team is not playing in it, what are the negatives? I promise you won't hurt my feelings!

Wegman. Is there going to be pool play before you are placed in the 2 & out? If not I think that a 3 game pool play before the tournament should really be placed in effect. Then you have a 4 game gaurentee so im sure people would not be afraid to front the $295 upfront for the tourny. If there is pool play first then just disregard this message but let us know...

The only reason we are not in, is because we have played 5 straight weekends and we are taking the next two off. No negatives, besides we just need a break. Sounds like a great tournament to me.

I'm not sure what we are doing yet... It's not something I am "against" playing... I'm a worth guy myself, so winning a bat that I would probably just sell makes it less attractive to me than some, but obviously there is nothing you can do about that. I don't really see anything that should scare people away other maybe some on cost... For teams that don't think they are contenders when they step on the field, it's on the expensive side to not get utrip points or possible berths... but again, the cost is required given the prize package. It should be interesting to say the least, and I'm sure you will have a decent turnout if Dirty Dozen doesn't scare everyone away because they are so much better than all of the other D and E teams in the city.

We are not playing because you offer no B team a chance to play. I agree though that you should not combine divisions and there are not enough B teams to complete a divison. I dont know if there is a way or not but that is the only thing I would change, make a way for everyone in the area be able to compete.

I think Wegs said that the only way he would bring the tourney here is if they kept the divisions split up, but don't quote me on that.

The first one is a test to see how everythign goes and if everyone likes the event. If it goes well, I have no objections to a B division. We will figure out a ratio to reduce the number of prize bats by how may teams join.

This is going to come down to the number of teams. I am all for a 3 game pool play and seed the tourney. We'll see how the numbers play out.
