You could ask Wegman, but he's busy demoing the Easton Reveal right now.

I saw him put one off the fence at rumpke earlier this year... don't worry, even though there is no such thing as a walk-off dirt spot pop up, we still get excited for you when you hit one that far.

C'mon that fence was atleast 240"!! Jerk...lol
I was a skeptic when I first seen the new ASA bats. Now I am impressed with the performance. These bats will create some unhappy cheaters!!!

I like when I hear that.. The question I have about those bats are is there anyway like after 2 yrs of use that they will change colors because of how old they are and how many times they have been hit? I mean if you use these bats as a team bat, You could be looking at 2000+ hits in 2 years.. Bats lose there stability, breaking in better with more use. Is this going to cause the tamper color changer to release?

IMO-There are 2 goals acheived with this bat. 1. Eliminate the cheaters or add some control to what they get away with. 2. Create a "composite" bat that will work with the ASA governing regulations.
ASA has plans to clamp down on the composite bats, mostly because they pass the limits as they break-in. Until now an umpire can't physically see when a bat is too hot. ASA says they will be testing "used" ASA composite bats currently on the passed list to see if they become too hot....if this happens, composite bats are going to be slim pickings. This new testing has openned the door for the Reveal/Clarity technology. This bat allows an umpire to phyisically see if the bat has exceeded the legal limits put in place by ASA.
Yes, the bat will eventually break in beyond the legal limit and change color. The bat will have a waranty package and Easton will honor it when a bat breaks down from normal use. If ASA stands firm on the new testing....I don't see too many composite bats passing the test after they have a few hundred swings.

400 days... That's what the warranty on those bats are. Better than 365, but all the extra is covering is the month that it takes to get a bat back from easton.
Here's my concern... The warranty says that breaking it in illegally will cause the color to change and the warranty will be voided... What happenes if the bat REALLY IS used as a team bat or just someone who hits the crap out of it or plays alot and it is broken in more quickly and eventually changes color?
Will they be able to tell the difference between legal and illegal use in that case? How does the player know that Easton isn't going to assume that the bat was broken in outside the rules and void the warranty when it was really broken in the old fashioned way?
The technology seems like a great idea, just some of the possible side effects of it concern me.

somebody will find a way to get around even this bat. its sad to say but if every bat was made this way than someone will find a way to shave or roll it.
